About My Work
I was a serious amateur photographer for 10 years starting when my wife gave me my first real camera in 1976. I pursued a career in photography from 1986 until my unofficial retirement in 2006. During that 20-year stretch, I pioneered the promotional dog & pet portrait concept in the northeast, serving a variety of pet-related retail outlets, including the Petco chain, through my start-up business Dog Gone Portraits. Since 1976, my focus has been on travel photography, having been fortunate to be able to visit 100+ foreign countries, using a variety of 35mm film SLR's and DSLR's. I've also authored and self-published 10+ photography books. Since 1991 I've combined my photography skills with my writing skills, and have had 40+ feature travel articles published locally. My work has been displayed at various venues in New Hampshire and Vermont, including the Belknap Mill in Laconia, NH and Catamount Arts in St. Johnsbury, VT.
