From Frank Gorga (www.gorga.org/blog, fgorga@gmail.com):

Item 1: I have three photographs (out of five submitted) accepted in the New Hampshire Audubon Society’s fundraising auction/show.  The photos I submitted can be seen in a post on my blog, see: gorga.org/blog/?p=2654.

The prints will be exhibited at the Society’s Massabesic Center in Auburn from 1 October to 7 December 2014.  If you happen to be in the Manchester area during this period, stop by, see all of the photos and maybe, place a bid.  All for a good cause!

Item 2: Educational Exhibit Available

I have an exhibit titled “Life Cycle of Dragonflies and Damselflies” available for loan to non-profit institutions such as public libraries, schools and nature centers. This exhibit just completed a four month run at the Millers River Environmental Center in Athol, MA.

The exhibit consists of ten large (approximately 20” x 24”) prints on aluminum and accompanying text that explains and illustrates the biology of these fascinating animals. More detailed information is available at:http://www.frg-photo.com/ode_exhibit/

If you know of an institution/individual that might be interested in hosting this exhibit please pass this information on to them. I am particularly interested in get word out to school teachers.

From Gary Lamott

In September I was honored to be a featured Artist in the promotion for Topaz Impression. I assisted in the Beta Testing and developed a few of the presets for the program in conjunction with Darcy Wheeler who headed the project. Topaz Impression helps you turn photos into paintings like a true artist would: by intelligently applying real brushstrokes to canvas. Please checkout my work (starting with my friend on the cover of the Gallery) as well as that of the many other fine artists such as Michael Sterling at http://gallery.topazlabs.com/Photography/Topaz-Impression/
I was honored to receive the First Place Award in the current 47th Annual Juried show of the Plymouth Mass. Art Guild for Black and White Photography. http://www.plymouthguild.org/ .I submitted a photo of a small church named San Raphael that I have been taking photos of it since 1986. You can view this photo by visiting my web site. I am always inspired by it, the land and all who live in New Mexico.
