SHOW NEWS FROM SARAH FLAUSE
PRC is Sponsoring a Vivian Maier Exhibition at Brandeis University in the Kniznick Gallery, Epstein Building at 515 South Street, Waltham, MA. The show is open until December 18th, 2013, Monday through Friday 9:00-5:00. If you are not familiar with the story about Vivian Maier look her up on the web - it's quite a treat - and check out her images.
Nora Vrublevska, an amazing Boston area photographer who joined us for the Star Island retreat this year is having a show at MIT Stratton Student Center from October 15 through December 10. The artist's reception is on November 7th from 5-7pm. She'll be showing photos from her Cambridge at Night series. More info on her blog: blog.noravrublevska.com. Her Cambridge at Night book, a collaboration project with Dan Squires, is also due to come out in the upcoming months.
There's another interesting show at Panopticon Gallery in Boston which includes images from two of our past guest photographers at Star Island: Neal Rantoul and Frank Armstrong. "On First Contact is not a sci-fi themed exhibition, rather an exhibition of film-based images much smaller than the contemporary norm. Panopticon Gallery will be hosting this exhibition from September 12 through January 14, 2014 which will feature many local, national and international artists. The exhibition will give viewers the opportunity to see the exact, uncropped and unmanipulated view that the photographer saw when creating their images." Check the website for more details.
