Here is the October newsletter from NHSPA.
NHSPA ANNUAL SHOW IN EXETER: DATES NOT KNOWN YET
I had hoped to report on important dates for our upcoming annual show in Exeter, such as the drop off date, hanging date, etc., which usually happen in December. However things are still up in the air. According to Ron St. Jean: "I've been assured that we can use the Exeter Town Hall Gallery for our annual show, but I don't have dates yet."
Hopefully we'll have more info in next month's newsletter. In the meantime you are encouraged to check nhspa.org and/or our facebook page (search for "New Hampshire Society of Photographic Artists" on facebook to find and like our page) for more timely info.

MORE UDO RAUTER WORKS AT CONCORD AUDUBON

My latest bird exhibit is at the Concord Audubon (224-9909) and runs until the end of October. There are 24 detailed close-up photos of a variety of birds ranging from small warblers to the golden eagle. It is advisable to contact Audubon ahead of a visit.
OTHER AREA SHOWS AND PRESENTATIONS
(from Sarah Flause)
There are currently two great shows on view at the Fitchburg Art Museum in Fitchburg, MA. "Building a Collection" celebrates the museum's photography collection which is very extensive and impressive. Included are works by Alfred Stieglitz, Charles Sheeler, Minor White, Edward Weston, Paul Caponigro, William Clift and many others. It's a large show - well worth the trip over there. And to really make the trip worthwhile there is another new show, "Still Life Lives!", with still life paintings, photographs and sculptures. It has some amazing pieces.
George Tice is presenting at the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester on November 21, 2013 at 7 PM in the French Building, 148 Concord Street, Manchester. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at nhia.edu/daada or call 603-836-2546.
Also coming up at the NH Institute of Art is a show - retrospective of work by Grammy award winning photographer Rowland Scherman. It includes iconic images from Woodstock, the 1963 Newport Folk Festival, The March on Washington and lots more. The show runs from October 7th through November 6th with the opening from 5-7 PM on October 9th.
