Here's a great opportunity that NHSPA member Barb Zulkiewicz asked me to share with all NHSPA members. I'm sending it mid-month because the event is next week:
"Please put the word out that if anyone is interested in going to the New Hampshire Institute of Art Distinguished Artists Discussing Art lecture series featuring photographer George Tice on Thursday, 11/21 @ 7PM for a discounted price of $10 (normally $20), please call the NHIA at 603.836.2546 (Julia) to RSVP and indicate they are from the NHSPA and would like the discounted price (this offer is not available on line).
DAaDA Lecture: George Tice, Thu, Movember 21, 7pm, French Building Auditorim
Join us for a slide presentation where George Tice will discuss his career, photography, books, and life. He will read briefly from some of the books and letters from his father to him as a young man. His photography began in 1953 at the age of fourteen when he first purchased a Kodak Pony camera and joined a local camera club and he continues to work today. At age 75, Seldom Seen (his 18th book) will be out and it will be his 60th year working in photography.
George is a significant figure in American photography. If you don't know his work, google him. This should be an interesting and informative evening.
